Thermal Conductivity of Sunflower Seed as a Function of Moisture Content and Bulk Density
نویسندگان
چکیده
The thermal conductivity of sunflower seed was determined as a function of moisture content, bulk density and temperature which varies from 0.1 to 30.48% (w.b.) and 437.14 to 352.5 kg/m and 22 to 46°C, 3 respectively. The slope of the linear portion ( T versus ln(t)) method was used to analyze the line source heating data for thermal conductivity determination. Bulk density of sunflower seeds followed a multiply relationship with moisture content. Thermal conductivity increased with increasing moisture content and decreasing bulk density and the values were in the range between 0.1854 to 0.3047 W/mK. However, the effect of moisture content on increasing the thermal conductivity was more than that of bulk density. Regression equations were established which could be used to reasonably estimate the values of the thermal conductivity as a function of moisture content and bulk density.

Engineering properties of sunflower seed: Effect of dehulling and moisture content
The study diagnosed engineering properties on varying moisture content of sunflower seed and kernel from 7.6 to 25% (wet basis). On increasing moisture, dimensional values increased for both seed and kernel. Bulk density, true density and porosity were found higher for kernel as compared to seed at each moisture content. On increasing the moisture content from 7.6 to 25%, true density, porosity...
متن کاملThe impact of compaction, moisture content, particle size and type of bulking agent on initial physical properties of sludge-bulking agent mixtures before composting.
This study aimed to experimentally acquire evolution profiles between depth, bulk density, Free Air Space (FAS), air permeability and thermal conductivity in initial composting materials. The impact of two different moisture content, two particle size and two types of bulking agent on these four parameters was also evaluated. Bulk density and thermal conductivity both increased with depth while...

Skidding operations can cause considerable and wide spread soil disturbance. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of ground skidding operations on soil compaction, moisture content, and total porosity at different levels of slope and traffic frequency. Four levels of traffic intensity (3, 8, 13, and >13 passes of a Crawler Tractor Onezhets ? 110) and three levels of slope ( ...
